As I have written before... A quality tutor responds immediately to the student's needs, is authentic, and uses all the tools suitable for the online environment.
But be careful here. In times when you can find everything imaginable on the internet and you have to use critical thinking, this applies doubly to the use of online teaching tools. I, too, went through a phase where I was excited about every new feature someone developed. I'll try this app in the next lesson, and this one too... And what about this one? Yeah, that will be great too! But...
We Teach a Language, Not Computer Skills
Today we know that it is enough to use two or three apps that suit you, that you can operate calmly and confidently, and most importantly: students are already used to their graphics, system, and functions.
They don't have to painstakingly become IT experts in every lesson. We teach them a language, not computer skills. Thus, the lesson fulfills its purpose. Both the tutor and the student are at ease, and no stress is created when something doesn't work.
Images, sound effects, and interactive tasks are essential for online teaching, otherwise, the student will be bored to death. But especially here, the old saying applies: Less is more!
And what to do when all the technical and technological tools stop working? Well, I'll save this "adrenaline" for next time )))... Phew...
